Pastor's April Greetings
Welcome to the new month of April. Thank God for Resurrection Sunday which we celebrated on the last Sunday of March. It was early because Easter came early this year and we seldom celebrate Easter in March!
The good news about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the death is that it confirms to us that Jesus is really the person the Bible reports Him to be. He is the Son of God, the Savior. His resurrection transformed our destiny. And now we have peace and courage to face the challenges of life going forward. One of the gifts that Jesus gave his disciples following His Resurrection from the dead was His presence. He went to His disciples to offer them help in the form of awaking their hope and courage.
The apostle Paul - in his ministry - continued with the same theme of building someone up when they are down: 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” I thank God that we are good in responding to the physical needs of our church family but going forward I encourage us to move to the next step and let us start to invest in the lives of our members and friends by helping them grow spiritually. One of the ways we can accomplish this task is to be fervent in our prayer.
Let us start sharing Biblical principles that apply to their situations in life and let us remind them of God’s promises. So be an encourager. Make this month to be a month of encouragement. I pray that Christ will surprise us through His special presence just as He surprised His disciples and empowered them to build His kingdom. May God's blessing be with you now and always. Shalom!
